Falling Feathers
Striving to improve the mental health of those experiencing illness through nature; by providing guidance and opportunities.
Nature is all around us and the opportunities to bring joy out of it are everywhere. We plan to make outdoor activities accessible and enhance people's connection to nature who are in need of this the most. Treatments, illness and the environment people are in, can be the farthest thing from what grounds us and makes us human. These stresses can take a toll not only physically but mentally on the affected person and those who love them. Being outdoors naturally brings happiness to the soul and gives us something to look forward to. The fresh air, physical activities, quality time spent with family/friends, the learning and observation of the wildlife, creates a love for it and takes the mind away from the hardships of life while improving our wellbeing. Many people do not have access, resources or guidance to enjoy the outdoors or pursue the activities that interest them. Falling Feathers aims to create opportunities for participants through outdoor activities that will help people live in the moment, learn new skills, improve mental health and to create memories to last a lifetime during the journey to recovery.
